Celebrate Frank Sinatra’s 102nd Birthday with New Book From His Former Manager
Frank Sinatra was one of the most influential musical artists of the 20th century, and this December 12, America will be celebrating his 102nd birthday. To celebrate his legacy, check out the new book his former manager, Eliot Weisman.
Eliot Weisman served as a manager, confidant, and advisor to some of the biggest names in entertainment – Liza Minnelli, Sammy Davis Jr., Don Rickles, Steve Lawrence, Eydie Gorme, Joan Rivers – and the “Chairman of the Board,” legendary singer Frank Sinatra.
In Weisman’s new book, THE WAY IT WAS: My Life with Frank Sinatra (Hachette Books: 10/24/17; 320 pages; $27.00), Weisman chronicles his years as long-time manager to Sinatra as well as several of the music personalities that he managed over the years. The book features original photos and is filled with scintillating revelations, including:
·Sinatra and Weisman both losing their cool in deal negotiations with Donald Trump for the grand opening of Trump’s Taj Mahal in Atlantic City;
·The backstory of the infamous photograph of Sinatra with mafia leaders and Weisman’s futile attempts to keep it from being leaked
